General Information
The Dutch language, dominant in the fields of economy, culture, and studies, is a valuable tool for finding work in the international arena, as well as offering the opportunity for education at Dutch higher education institutions. Thousands of students choose to study at Dutch universities, which are considered among the best in the world. In the field of economy, the Netherlands are the third-largest exporter globally, following USA and France.
Through online teaching, you can immerse yourself in the Dutch language from anywhere in the world, with native-speaking teachers who hold university degrees from abroad as well as Greece and have extensive experience teaching Dutch to adults. This approach enables the development of the four key language skills, supported by teaching materials consisting of texts, audiovisual material, and multimedia, complemented by continuous practical language exercises.
The title of examination for Dutch in Greece is called Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (Certificate of Dutch as a Foreign Language), and it certifies proficiency levels from A2 to C1. The exams are held once a year at the French Institute of Thessaloniki.
Levels/Courses/Private Lessons
A1-A2 (Beginners)
Upon completion of the A1-A2 courses, you will be considered a basic speaker of the language and can communicate fluently about all important everyday matters. Your vocabulary will be sufficient for exchanging basic information using simple syntax and grammar.
B1
Upon completion of this level, you will have covered a significant part of Dutch grammar and syntax. You will be able to communicate on complex topics, using a more advanced vocabulary and more complex sentence structures.
B2
This level is aimed at those wishing to work in the Netherlands in the healthcare or administrative sectors, as well as those aspiring to study at Dutch and Flemish universities and colleges.
C1
This level focuses on perfecting the language and assimilating the ways of expression necessary for complete proficiency in Dutch. It includes the language of the media and politics, with an emphasis on specific syntactical structures, spoken language style, letter writing, and journalism. At this level, you will be able to understand demanding texts of a high degree of difficulty and recognize even implied meanings.
CERTIFICATES/EXAMS
The Galileo Galilei Institute guarantees the success of its students in the Dutch language exams. The extensive experience and training of the instructors provide students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the structure of the exams and the examination process, while also equipping them with the necessary tools for success.
